Company Profile
Charity One Insurance Agency is a licensed, bonded and insured Independent Brokerage Firm backed by more than 35 years of combined experience in the insurance industry. We specialize in providing insurance programs to nonprofit and social service organizations at highly competitive premiums. We represent the interests of our clients, while simultaneously cultivating solid relationships with our partner insurance companies.
We watched many new nonprofits open their doors during the 1990s. Although we were delighted by this growth spurt, as insurance professionals, we also knew that many nonprofits and social service agencies were unwittingly left compromised. This occurred because they either lacked the funding to purchase the proper insurance or were ill-advised in their selection of an insurance program suitable for their needs. Unfortunately, not all insurance professionals are well-informed about insurance programs available to the nonprofit and social service communities. Over the past few years, charitable grant makers, government funding sources, and various other funders have placed more stringent requirements on nonprofits for insurance. This has left many nonprofits at a severe disadvantage because the premiums for nonprofit insurance are typically very high or unavailable through many traditional insurance companies and brokerage agencies. To help resolve this problem, we formed Charity One Insurance Agency in 1999 to provide competitively priced, stable, high quality products and programs to charitable organizations. Since our formation, we have offered our services exclusively to nonprofit and social service agencies. Today, our company is emerging as a leader in the world of nonprofit insurance.

I am grateful to be a part of Charity One! The company has provided me with the ability to support the development of our team members as well as support nonprofits and social service organizations to protect their mission. I truly enjoy volunteering and learning about all the wonderful missions our nonprofits have in order to create a positive impact to our communities. My favorite thing is spending time with my son and being a caddy for his golf tournaments. Also fishing, bowling, and being a barbecue pit master.

Working with Nonprofit & Social Service Organizations is exciting and rewarding. I love being able to help protect our clients missions and being there when our clients need us the most. Being a part of Charity One has allowed me to work with a team of dedicated people and service a host of passionate clients. I am a Certified Work Comp Advisor. Assisting high ex-mod clients find affordable solutions and break down their policies to find past errors is my favorite kind of challenge. Outside of the office I enjoy spending time with my Jack Russell Terriers and finding fun ways to be active!
Caroline O’Connor
Charity One has become my home away from home. I love working with people who have become family and helping our clients achieve their missions. It truly is such a fulfilling career. I am a Certified Work Comp Specialist and enjoy helping clients understand the inner workings of their policies. Outside of work, you can find me watching sports, playing with my dogs, being crafty or enjoying my favorite hobby, billiards. My team and I won 2nd place at the World Championships in Las Vegas, NV!
Deanna Anderson
I enjoy working with organizations that are trying to better the world and make a difference, whether it be giving hope to a community, foster children, homeless in need or animals.
In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with family and friends or my animals. I love traveling, attending car shows and eating desserts. Fun facts about me – I’m related to John Wayne, I used to race Jr Dragsters from the ages of 10-17, and I’m actually a redhead in disguise.

Throughout all my life I’ve been passionate about serving my community. Charity One has allowed me to not only do just that, but to serve those who do so much for those in need at a much greater scale - and it doesn’t get much more fulfilling than that. Apart from insurance, I also love to write music, try new local restaurants, and make clothes in my spare time.

Charity One Insurance Agency partners only with companies that are rated by A.M. Best (an industry standard rating company) and maintain an A or A+ rating or higher. Our companies are rated superior and no less than excellent. Our partners are financially sound with stable history and proven track records of paying claims and defending their clients.
Although we are a for-profit business, we are considered a vital part of the nonprofit community. We are affiliated with leading umbrella organizations in the nonprofit insurance sector such as the Nonprofit Insurance Alliance of California (NIAC). We are an appointed broker of the Nonprofit Insurance Alliance of California and a multitude of other insurance companies that have products specifically for nonprofit & social service organizations.
Our partner companies offer coverage exclusively to nonprofit organizations. Consumers cannot access these programs directly through these insurance companies. Instead, they must go through an approved insurance broker such as Charity One Insurance Agency. When a prospective client contacts us, we shop the market with many eligible specialty carriers to find a suitable plan, or if necessary, we custom-design a plan. We typically save each client thousands of dollars annually. In addition, we are often able to improve their coverage for equal or lower premiums.
It is our pledge that we will never make compromises by placing your coverage with companies for higher commission, bonuses, or contingency checks.
